Protea Valley Educare

Early childhood education is a most important and crucial phase of a child’s education.

RE:NEW Trust established an Educare facility on Protea Valley Church’s premises with a two-fold vision:

  • Provide early childhood education for children living in the Protea Valley area that is of a high standard by offering small classes and teachers who are highly qualified.
  • To treat each child as an individual allowing them to grow to their full potential and to teach and demonstrate the love of Jesus.
  • To break down the racial and financial barriers that divide our communities by enrolling children from other communities at Protea Valley Educare on a sponsorship basis.

  • Provide domestic workers working in the Protea Valley area with the opportunity for their children to benefit from quality Educare, in a safe and loving environment and progress from the Educare to local primary schools, then high schools and ultimately tertiary education.

Values

Given its vision and mission, the values of the Educare include the following:

01.

— Christian-based

Teaching children about the love of Jesus and creating an environment where every child feels loved and special.
02.

— Highest quality education

This includes small class sizes, qualified, experienced, teachers and curriculum aligned to CAPS. It also includes a variety of extra mural activities and enrichment classes for children who require special teaching (e.g. language enrichment).
03.

— Inclusivity

Providing an environment where children of all races and socioeconomic backgrounds feel equally loved and where children are taught to love and value each other regardless of the barriers that divide our communities.
04.

— Not for profit & not cross subsidised

The Educare aims to break even financially, which means that all fees paid to the school are spent on the school. The fees of children who have been enrolled on a sponsorship basis are paid to the Educare by RE:NEW trust, which means that the fees are not cross-subsidised by fee-paying children.

Entry Requirements

RE:NEW Trust would like to invest in the lives of children whose parents are committed to high quality education. As such, the Educare is an important, first step, in the long term educational journeys of these children. The Educare’s entry requirements will, therefore, be aligned to the entry requirements of local primary schools.
